Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid-6.8/10

PG- I would give it a 13 rating, but whatever...

This 1982 comedy starring Steve Martin is about a detective (Martin) who is confronted by a woman who thinks her father's death was a murder. Now between those two, there's some comedy, but the movie gets it's interesting comedy from the clips played throughout the movie. By that I mean, there's clips from other mystery movies throughout the movie, as actual characters. For example, they have clips of Bogart throughout the movie with Steve Martin talking to him, even though the clips in the movie are from different Bogart movies. Anyways, it's a funny enough movie, with the clips adding further laughs. This movie is funny enough, with such cameos (I guess that's what you'd call
them) by Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant, Burt Lancaster, and Ava Gardner. Now obviously this movie is funnier if you've seen the movies they have clips of, or at least have seen movies with those actors. So in the end I'd recommend this movie to fans of Murder by Death, Steve Martin fans, and older mystery movies.
