The Court Jester-6.0/10

G

This 1955 movie (oldest movie I've done so far?) stars comedian Danny Kaye and is kind of robin hood spoofish. A guy (Kaye) working under the freedom fighter Black Fox ends up infiltrating the tyrannical kingdom as a jester. Something to keep in mind, Kaye sings about every ten minutes. Although it's not unberable, like the singing in The Rocker. Anyways, it's an alright movie, has it's funny moments, although this is 19 freakin' 55 we're talkin about, so it's that kind of humor. I don't know how else to put it. Angela Lansbury(Picture of Dorian Grey, Murder She Wrote) plays the princess. Basil Rathbone (this guy starred in a slew of Sherlock Holmes movies, really milked that cow clean) plays the evildoer. and that pretty much wraps it up. Fans of medieval comedies may enjoy this, Cinderfella fans will get a kick out of it, surely, and Danny Kaye fans will obviously like it as well.
